I have been selling online since July, 2007. Since then, I've learned how to improve my SEO by using better keywords and to use as much space as I'm allowed for my titles by implementing those keywords effectively. Besides keywords, a seller has to know what buyers want to buy in handmade, digital designs, and vintage finds. It's rough! And after the online platforms get their fees, I make anywhere from $4 to $10 profit per item depending on what I'm selling.
I have read about people who make $100,000 + annually selling online. I haven't experienced that yet, but I remain hopeful. : )
For the most part, my son and I like bringing our designs, finished products, and/or vintage finds to these platforms for reasonable prices, not big profits.
